Rural and Urban Maps
We took a look at the differences between rural communities (country area) and urban communities (city areas). We looked at what the citizens of each community needed and specific elements of each area. The students then created their own versions rural and urban communities. They learned to include a title, legend, colourful symbols, and to label their maps clearly.

It takes many people to make up a community. Our class is exploring what types of community helpers, buildings and services are in our community and how they are needed. At the moment we are following the adventures of Town Mouse and City Mouse as they both explore their respective homes.
